Kathleen Denigan, from the State
Library of Queensland facilitated the involvement of other partners
in the project including Balkanu, UNSW and CYDN.
"Libraries are a great resource for all communities, for
leisure and for education. It's great to see initiatives that
encourage indigenous people to use the library to share cultural
knowledge and increase their access to information." |

The new photography component for Black Image was
completed by Jo-Anne Driessens who has been a
staff member for the State Library of Queensland for nine years,
currently based in the Public Programs section developing skills
for exhibition displays, events & workshop co-ordination.
The results from the March / April 2005 visit included the
photographic documentation of the entire band and also facilitated
in encouraging reading and the interaction between community and
library.
"I would like to thank the Harrigan parents and all members of
the band who were patient with myself and Kathleen Denigan
throughout our visit."
