Durbbil/Dikarrba

In 2002 Black Image produced their first album, Durrbil/Dikarrba. Durrbil meaning red soil in the Gugu Yimithirr language from their mothers side and Dikarrba is the name of the traditional area of Wujal Wujal of the Kuku Yalangi language from their fathers side. It is said of this album “Songs that everyone will enjoy and dance to”. Durrbil/Dikarrba was met with strong anticipation by Black Image Fans.

Saltwater Songs: Indigenous Maritime Music from Tropical Australia

Black Image's song "Beautiful Land and Sea" is featured in this compilation CD. The songs tell of their family, their land and the sea, in particular the spectacular rainforest and reefs near Wujal Wujal and the beautiful coloured sands of Hope Vale.

Beautiful Land and sea

Released in 2007 this album was produced by the Black Image boys along side ARIA awarded producers Nigel Pegrum and Karl Nuenfeldt. This time around with more experience in the studio, Black Image produced this album with a variety of different sounds. This album gained a wide recognition that took the band all the way to Sydney to win the National Indigenous Band of the Year at the Deadly Awards.
